Sheriff Pounds was born and raised in Douglas County, which gives him a deeper understanding of the area’s unique needs and challenges. As a Douglas County native, he grew up in a large family of 14, where hard work and a strong sense of community were instilled in him at an early age. This home-grown perspective, along with his sense of pride in our community, is instrumental in his ability to effectively lead the Sheriff’s Office and effectively advocate for the residents as the county swiftly grows.
With 47 years of law enforcement experience, including his previous terms as Sheriff, Tim Pounds has developed a comprehensive knowledge of the criminal justice system, community policing, and crime prevention strategies. His extensive expertise and hands-on experience make him an ideal candidate to continue leading the Sheriff’s Office in safeguarding the lives and property of Douglas County’s residents.
